1) Make sure you see the exact storage unit you’re renting.  Every unit will be slightly different and one may suit your needs much better than another.  Once you’ve seen the storage space and are completely comfortable with what you’re getting, you can return to the self storage facility leasing office to complete the rental agreement.  

SpaceMax Storage lends its hand to upcoming episodes of DIY Network’s Mega Dens.

In DIY Network’s newest show Mega Dens, host and interior designer Anitra Mecadon creates over-the-top rec-room sanctuaries while giving viewers the skills to renovate their own family spaces. These unbelievable room renovations feature incredible home theaters, innovative gaming areas, clever storage solutions, and more. Anitra's rock 'n' roll approach to design transforms these rooms beyond the homeowners' wildest imaginations.

While shooting in Atlanta, the Mega Dens television crew stored furniture, nice pieces of rare wood and other items to decorate the rooms on the show in SpaceMax Storage's climate controlled units. Outside elements such as heat, humidity and wind can wreak havoc on sensitive interior design elements needed in the TV show. The SpaceMax state-of-the-art storage technology was designed precisely to protect such expensive furniture and decor from harm, and the guys at SpaceMax were honored to contribute to the production of the program.

DIY Network also used the SpaceMax truck to move material from the storage facility to various locations around the Metro Atlanta area, allowing the show to control ever-increasing transportation costs.

Here at SpaceMax, we just love the holidays. We're always on the lookout to help the local charities and groups, especially this time of year. So when the Communities in Schools of Atlanta group asked to use our conference table and lobby to unload and sort toy donations, we of course quickly said yes!

• It may seem obvious, but always use sturdy boxes. You can put more in each box as well as stacking them higher in your storage unit, saving you valuable space.

• Placing Styrofoam plates between your dishes is a great way to protect them as you move, plus they can be reused later.

• Be careful about what you choose to store. Scented candles, household cleaning chemicals, lawn fertilizers and the like can all leave odors in your items that you may not appreciate.

• When possible, avoid using plastic bags to store items. Not only will they prevent you from stacking, bags they can also trap moisture.

• Many people are unaware that boxes for clothing, called "wardrobe boxes" are sold at most packing supply stores. If you plan to store clothing for a long period of time, these boxes can prevent hard to remove creases and pricey dry cleaning bills.

• When storing artwork, consider wrapping it in acid free paper found at most art supply stores.

• Always store glass table tops, artwork and mirrors vertically rather than flat. 

• If you live in an arid climate, consider conditioning leather items such as couches and clothing. This can help protect them when they are not in use. 

• If you are storing bicycles, motorcycles or other machinery be sure to lubricate any areas that might be prone to rust.

• And most importantly, take a few moments to plan how you want to organize your unit. Place items to may need access to towards the front and leave enough room for you to walk into your unit.

We’re also thankful to be a part of the Atlanta community, and in the spirit of giving back this holiday season, we are kicking off our annual Toys for Tots program again this November.

Here at SpaceMax Storage, we take the responsibility of keeping our customers’ things secure very seriously. We have approximately 90 surveillance cameras at each location, loads of high-intensity outdoor lights, passcode-restricted elevators, computerized building entry doors and of course, all our Atlanta storage units are contained and accessed indoors.
 
In addition to all these measures, every storage unit needs a lock. Since we like helping our customers, we’re giving them high quality locks to keep their extra things completely safe.  

So it’s that time we all dread ... Moving time! It is something almost everyone will experience at some point. One of the most difficult tasks when moving is finding a trustworthy moving company.

Businesses understand a simple formula that may not be readily applied in the individual consumer’s use: revenue minus cost equals profit. Lowering costs increases profit if revenue is the same (even when revenue is down, in some cases, but that’s a different topic). Office space can be very costly. Even the smallest increase in square footage of office space can be several times that of the same square-footage of storage space in even multi-level facilities that offer climate-controlled storage.
